Top 10 habits to boost your immune system and live a healthier life. Sometimes we take our health for grant and forget its true value. Start to use these simple habits to boost your immune system and live a healthier and happy life.
1. Get proper sleep
The way we live our lives have a massive impact on our health, and sadly we push ourselves even further, despite knowing that we fight for our own good.
The way you take care of your body it will reward you with a health condition to keep yourself function properly. Many of us are searching for a magic and instant method to get rather with the pain, or to sleep like a baby, when in fact what we should consider is some simple changes in our lifestyle that can impact our entire immune system.
Sleep!
Sleep is so undervalued that we are prepared to spend all the money we have to buy health. We prefer to buy sleeping tablets rather than making a sleep routine. In life, some certain things need to be done at the right time, following specific rules, and sleep is one of those things.
Our body works like a machine, if you overuse it, it will break. Another example can be our cars, if you fuel your tank with diesel instead of petrol, your car won’t work and vice versa.
Why sleep is so important to boost your immune system?
Good sleep allows your body to regenerate, to make order in your thoughts and function proper, overall to keep your immune system strong so it can protect you from illness.
The damage from sleep deficiency will affect you for the rest of your life unless you decide to change completely your lifestyle.

Get a daily nap to boost your energy.
I remember spending summers at my grandparents, working at a farm every day with a strict routine that could be a military agenda.
Sleeping and waking up early is very important when working at a farm. In the middle of the day, between 12 am and 1 pm everyone has to sleep, and after you carry on working until evening.
Why I’m telling you this little story, is because I want to show you that even simple people like farmers know how important is sleep for your body. You don’t even need scientific experiments to prove these facts.
Large corporations have taken this trend seriously and arranged room naps for their employees. Working on the computer many hours will simply drain your energy, which leads to low performance in any life aspect.
2. Stay positive and surround yourself with positive people
Any negative thoughts, anxiety, anger, stress, jealousy, and frustration are low vibe energies that weaken your immune system. The best way to get rather of negative thoughts is to listen to your favorite music.
Music is magic. Music is such a powerful tool to change the atmosphere, a key to instantly access a new vibe. Use music to boost your immune system and forget about stress and social problems.
To create a more rapid change in your mood, you can unleash your vocal talent and sing. Be your own superstar, sing, and dance, these simple habits will boost your immune system like nothing else can.
3. Laugh, is free and very effective to boost your immune system
When was the last time you laugh until you cried? You cannot remember? That’s fine because many of us forget to laugh and only focus on jobs, bills, how we behave, what we say, and what we do according to society rules.
I’m not saying to laugh like a maniac when you’re in a public space, but nobody stops you from doing that when you’re at home. YouTube should be your best friend if you want to boost your immune system laughing.
Check this playlist I made with funny videos so you can watch and laugh until you cry.
4. Eat healthy and have a balanced diet
If you want to have a strong immune system, you have to combine everything mentioned above, plus a healthy diet, and make it part of your entire life. You cannot eat salads just for a short period and expect to be healthy forever.
Bodybuilders don’t stop after they grow muscles; in fact, they stick with a workout routine for the rest of their lives. If you want to live a healthier life, plan your diet in the long run. Learn to cook, try new recipes, and eat as many fruits and veggies as possible.
Fruits and vegetables are extremely important to boost your immune system, especially vitamin C which is responsible to keep infections away.
Fruits that are high in vitamin C are kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, blackcurrant, orange, grapefruit, lemons. Be creative; eat them as they are, in a fruit salad, or squeeze them into a delicious juice.
5. Exercise daily
It is not anymore a myth that exercising daily will boost your immune system. Light yoga poses, stretching, bicycling, and walking can be done in just a few minutes; those few minutes of exercise can have a totally positive impact on your health.
Daily exercises help release endorphins in your body, keep you in good shape, and your immune system strong. Besides, when exercising, your body eliminates toxins, altogether creating a powerful defence against all kind of health threats.Â
6. Read everyday
Reading might not directly boost your immune system, but it will help you focus and stimulate your mental health. Mental health is extremely important to control your cognitive behaviour, to improve your memory and prevent developing Alzheimer.
Mental health disease like Alzheimer can wipe the memory of your loved ones, and you won’t be able to recognize even the closest relatives. Your brain is a muscle that needs to be active and engaged, therefore reading is by far the best method to do that. Check this list of books that will improve your life and which I personally selected that helped me, and I’m sure it will help you too.
7. Take care of your gut
This amazing advice is a contribution from Gaynor Wilde, fitness instructor and wellness coach where you can find more tips for a healthy life on her Instagram page: @gaynortwilde
Gaynor is a professional wellness coach that knows ins and out of living a healthy life and here is what she advises to keep your gut healthy.
“It’s so important to have a healthy gut. The gut microbiome plays a big role in keeping us healthy. Along with our moods, hormones, immunity and so much more. I would recommend a daily dose of prebiotics, probiotics and proenzymes (all 3 found in Arbonne digestion plus supplement) along with fibre.
Research shows that we don’t eat enough fibre, so much needed every single day to keep our gut healthy so it can defend our body against pathogens. A solution is to uptake fruit and vegetables and use a supplement such Arbonne greens balance, which has a rainbow of fruit and veg fibre ( to learn more about Arbonne follow @gaynortwilde on her Instagram). Zinc is also found to be great for immunity. So basically, supplement your diet with pre probiotics and increase your fibre for a healthy gut and immune system.”
8. Drink at least 2,5 litres of water every day
Drinking plenty of water keeps your body well hydrated and helps clean the lymphatic system.
The lymphatic system is responsible for protecting your body against potential bacteria and cancer cells, as well as draining and flushing the toxins out of your body.
On average an adult human being is about 60% water, which proves how important is to keep your body properly hydrated. Water is the main factor that keeps our body cells alive and allows them to regenerate.
Let’s take for example the skin that covers your body; if you don’t drink enough water, your skin will show aging signs before you know it. Common skin problems caused by dehydration are rashes, itchiness, and irritation which, ignored, can turn into serious health problems.
To make it easier for you to drink 2,5 liters of water a day, start with a glass immediately when you wake up, it might be hard to do that in the beginning but think about your health and say to yourself that water is vital for a strong immune system.
Drink another glass of water right after breakfast, then have a few sips until lunch, repeat the process with small sips until dinner, and complete your water intake so that you reach 2,5 liters.
I normally have a bottle of 1 liter, and I top it up with water every time I finish it. It makes it so much easy to keep a record of how much water I drink, and it doesn’t look impossible when I see a small size.
9. Take a long bath
After a long day, laying down in a hot tub is everything you need to calm your mind and refresh your body.
Turn your bathroom into a sanctuary and use aromatherapy oils, scented bath salt, and relaxing music. Following this routine will boost your immune system straight away, and that’s because relaxation is directly related to maintaining a balanced and well-being feeling.
10. Connect with nature
Being calm is our natural state as human beings. When you feel agitated, anxious, depressed or cannot clear your mind, go out and explore the nature. Even a 30 minutes’ walk in the park or near a lake will do wonders for your health.
Hug a tree and absorb fresh energy, we are all connected to this planet, flowers, trees, animals, insects, all together are playing a vital role in our world.
