If you’ve been following my blog, you might remember that a few months ago, I reviewed the Simba Hybrid Mattress (you can find the blog post here). Recently, the representatives from Simba reached out to me again, this time to review the Ludlow Bed frame. I truly appreciate this opportunity and want to extend a special thank you to Liv for managing our collaboration so thoughtfully.

SimbaSleep Ludlow Bed frame review – shipping time
Once I finalized the color and size of the bed frame, it took just 10 days for delivery. Simba partners with Rhenus Home Delivery, which provides the convenience of selecting your preferred delivery date via email or WhatsApp. This feature is particularly impressive, as it is not commonly offered by many furniture companies.
Upon receiving the bed frame, the unboxing process is remarkably straightforward. However, it’s crucial to exercise caution when using sharp objects to cut through the plastic wrapping to avoid damaging the fabric of the bed frame. Take your time during the unboxing, and enlist the help of another person to maneuver the components. The parts can be quite heavy, and proper assistance will prevent any potential strain or injury.
Setting up the SimbaSleep Ludlow Bed Frame
The first thing to get this bed frame up as quick as possible is to start with the headboard. Place it against the wall until you bring the divan bed base. Then add the legs to the divan base so you can move to screw the front part to the headboard. Here it was a bit tricky for me as I couldn’t figure out how exactly to attach the divan to the headboard.
To simplify this process, start by poking the fabric on the divan side where you see the dot mark for the screws. Once you have made this mark, it will be easier to insert the screw through the headboard and attach it to the divan base. I hope this explanation is clear, as Simba did not provide instructions for this step. If you need video instructions, ask, and I’ll create a quick tutorial to help you better understand the process.
Both divan bases have marks on one edge, so don’t be alarmed if you notice them—they’re designed that way. This feature allows you to swap the front divan base with the second one over time. As the bases naturally show signs of wear and tear, you can switch them to maintain the bed frame’s pristine appearance for many years.
Moving on to hook both divan bases. For this process ensure that the hooks match just like the image below. Sometimes mistakes can happen and you could end up with 2 divan bases with the same hooks. But that can be replaced by yourself also. There are screws that holds the hooks in place, so you could swap them yourself if you can, but in that situation is best to contact the Simba customer service as it might affect the warranty if you make changes to the bed frame.

I really liked our old metal bed frame too, but being metal it was making lots of noise when moving and the slats were quite loose which caused the mattress to sink in the middle of the bed. Another reason I switch to the Ludlow divan bed frame is because it provides that hotel feeling, something I always wanted for my bedroom.

- Durability: Built from high-quality materials, the Ludlow Bed is sturdy and durable. It feels robust and well-constructed, giving you confidence in its longevity. This bed is an investment that promises to last for years, maintaining its form and function.
- It comes with 4 storage drawers: I love to keep everything organized and that was the first request I had when I was offered the Ludlow bed frame. Although I could keep things under the old bed frame, most of the time the dust was settling very easy and required extra work for me. But being enclosed drawers, it makes such a difference in keeping stuff free of dust.
What I Dislike About the Ludlow Bed
- Price Point: While the Ludlow Bed is undoubtedly a premium product, its price point might be a bit steep for some. It’s an investment, and although it offers great value, it might not fit everyone’s budget.
- Weight: The bed is quite heavy, which can be a downside if you need to move it frequently. This might not be a significant issue once it’s set up, but it’s something to consider during the initial assembly or if you plan to relocate it. The bed requires two people to lift up the stairs, so keep that in mind if you planning to buy the Ludlow bed frame.
- Limited Color Options: The Ludlow Bed comes in a limited range of colors. While the available options are stylish, having more choices would cater to a broader range of personal tastes and interior designs.
- No instructions to assembly the bed frame: The bed frame is very easy to assembly and doesn’t really require instructions, but still, there are people who might struggle with the screwing part. Wouldn’t hurt to add a page with instructions just in case.

Do I recommend the SimbaSleep Ludlow Bed Frame?
You might be wondering if I recommend the SimbaSleep Ludlow Bed frame. Absolutely, I do. To illustrate why, take a look at the wooden slats from my old bed frame. These slats were loose, causing the mattress to sink in the middle. But with the Ludlow bed frame, that’s no longer an issue.
I always dreamed of having a bed that felt as luxurious as those in hotels, and after switching to the Ludlow bed frame, the comfort level has increased tenfold. My bed is now so comfortable that I want to spend as much time as possible sleeping and relaxing, more than ever before.

So now I have a complete modern and comfortable bed, I need to find sheer curtains and find a gorgeous piece of art for the wall on the left side. Is a bit too large and naked and I was planning to DIY an oversized textured canvas. Hopefully I should take care of these two accessories soon, but I don’t like to rush since I want to create a long lasting decor.
